My current goal is to have the time of my life writing as fast as I please while I complete and release multiple projects in a row.
Is the advisable? Maybe.
Is it fun? Defeinitely.
I don’t really like the idea of writing for a niche for the main reason that that would be a completely waste of talent. So I thought I would take a moment and list my projects so that if one of them tickles your fancy, you can know that it will probably be released later this year. Or next year at the latest. Fun, right?
Fiction:
Marriage in the Age of Memes: The hotly anticipated (not really) sequel to Love in the Age of Memes! Currently nearing completion of first draft, features Matilda taking a week off work to go visit her mother in Tijuana, where she finds she has to go phoneless due to a completely inept tour guide. Will she survive the lack of internet AND the pasty unexpected suitor who happens to be more fun than her husband?
The Executioner’s Apprentice: My golden child, lol. This book is AWESOME, and probably about ready for beta readers. Just under 50k, it hops along merrily and keeps you wondering about my sanity until the end. What’s it about? Yeah, you’re not ready. Just know that it’s intentionally offensive in oh so many delightful ways.
Untitled Vampire Project: Yeah idk. One day I decided I wanted to write a book about vampires. Currently it features dystopian, zombie, and feminist themes, all tied up in a neat little bow. I just wrote the climax, and I STILL don’t know what it’s about. I do know that it features a mouse named Horace, though. So, there’s that.
Gone: So, ok, the thing is, I started a kick-ass story two years ago and never finished it, and I looked back at it, and IT’S NOT BAD! So I’m gonna start fleshing it out and pray I don’t overwrite it. It’s horror/spiritual that features a shaman who has to discover the secret to raising people from the dead in order to save a town where people are mysteriously dying. Currently just under 20k.
Monster: A psychological thriller that I’ve written bits and pieces of, and don’t have a good direction for yet. This one is on back burner.
Non-Fiction
How To Write A Book: Not that I am the bastion of all knowledge, but that I went from barely being able to finish a short story to pumping out books within about 5 years. Probably a lot of people could benefit from all I learned. Struggling to complete a book? This one’s for you.
Why Your Life Sucks (And How To Fix It!): Before I was an author, I was a life coach. I worked with a lot of people living in crappy life circumstances, and helped them work through it. Not all of them made it, but some did. Also, I have a lot of life experience, and I’ve learned that, unfortunately, your misery is often your own fault. Welcome to this hot take on radical responsibility, universal spiritual laws, and how to use Jesus’ sacrifice to actually change your life instead of just pouting on the sidelines while your life passes you by.
Inner Healing: Technically a completed ebook I banged out in a single day, because people seemed to need it. Explains inner healing to those who have never heard of it. It’s more of a pamphlet. I wrote it from a strong Christian perspective, which ruffled some feathers and they ignored the advice. Those in question are still quite demon-oppressed. Not sure what to tell you—don’t be offended by good advice in offensive packages. Shrug.
And that is it! Well, almost. Those are the main ones. I’m always thinking of new yarns to spin. Good problem to have, I suppose.
So, which ones are your favorites? Any you’re particularly looking forward to, or would love to beta or ARC for? Lmk, and I’ll keep you in mind for when it’s time!
